ChemTaurus GmbH, originally a spin-off from the University of Bremen, is a privately owned German Chemical Company. Our rapidly growing company was founded in 2008 by a group of chemists with many years of experience in both applied and basic research in organic, organofluorine, and organophosphorus chemistry. Our work has resulted in numerous patent applications and publications with Bayer AG, Aventis AG, Degussa AG, Merck KGaA and LG International Corporation.
A series of robust, easily recyclable and highly efficient catalysts have been developed. These unique compounds represent a new family of salts of delocalized lipophilic cations with remarkably high potential for solid-liquid phase-transfer halide exchange. Novel effective fluorinating reagents based on α,α-difluoroamines have been developed and evaluated.
We provide new products and intermediates for materials, pharmaceutical, and crop protection industries, including custom-made fluorinated synthons, building blocks and catalysts.
ChemTaurus makes numerous trifluoromethoxylating and pentafluoro-ethoxylating reagents. Trifluoromethoxylation of alcohols andhydroxy acid esters provides easy technological access to functionalized CF3O-aliphatic substrates. Furthermore, we develop novel aliphatic building blocks bearing lipophilic, yet metabolically stable trifluoromethoxy and trifluoromethylthio substituents for incorporation into small molecules in life science-oriented research. Useful intermediates for a variety of bioactive compounds including therapeutic agents is also our specialty. Among ChemTaurus-developed tools for drug design are fluorine-containing amines and amino acids for the construction of novel, selectively fluorinated peptide and protein structures.
We are experts in making various functionalized trifluoromethylthio and trifluoromethyl pyrazines, pyridazines and bis(trifluoromethyl)-pyridines for medicinal chemistry and crop protection needs.
We have also developed a general route to functionalizedpentakis(trifluoromethyl)benzene derivatives, including C6(CF3)5OH, C6(CF3)5Cl, C6(CF3)5NH2, and C6(CF3)5COOH. These compounds, available from ChemTaurus, are unique, highly promising building blocks for the synthesis of novel stable carbenes, radical species, superacids, weakly coordinating anions, and other materials for both applied and basic research.
